After the disappointing release of "Street Angel", Modern/Atlantic records dropped Stevie Nicks from their roster of artists. However, to ensure they had drained all proceeds possible from Stevie Nicks and her work, they decided to release a 3 Disc Box set entitled "Enchanted." Fans, weren't happy and record sales of the box set clearly showed that.

Looking back at this release now, I find it funny that Modern/Atlantic would even consider.....for ONE Moment....that they should go ahead an initiate a box set on Stevie Nicks....because little did they know......Stevie was FAR FAR from being OVER.
When they dropped her, Reprise Records snatched her up. The idiots at Atlantic ACTUALLY though the High Priestess of Rock "N" Roll was "History." (I chuckle at such stupidity). Since, Street Angel failed to catch the listeners and radios attention....that was their whole reason. What they FORGOT, however, were us LOYAL fans who KNEW Stevie may have been down, but certainly not out. Stevie Nicks was plotting and planning the BIGGEST comeback of her life.....and that she succesfully accomplished.
My favorite disc on this box set is Disc # 3. I love Stevie's cover of the Tom Petty Classic "Free Fallin'" from the Party Of Soundtrack. "Somebody Stand By me" from the Drew Barrymoore and Whoppi Goldberg film "Boys On The Side", "Twisted" from the movie Helen Hunt Tornado Chaser based film "Twisted, to one of my ALL TIME favorite Stevie Nicks songs......"Sleeping Angel" from Sean Penn film "Fast Times At Ridgemont High."
"Reconsider Me" is an awesome track that is a duet with Stevie and Dopn Henley, origionally brought to Stevie Nicks by Jimmy Iovine while recording "Rock A Little". Stevie refused. Now, here on "Enchanted", Stevie Nicks presents the song as a gift to Jimmy and was actually released as a single.
Along with the three disc's, Stevie has included a book. Filled with never before seen photographs and writings. Stevie even wrote an introduction to the box set for us.....here it is in it's entirety.
"When you open my book and you get to the place where the writing stops and the pictures start.....you will notice that there are a few words written over the photographs. Rather than put my perceptions on the photos, I would rather leave them open for your own interpretations. There are many photographs that you have never seen, and even I.....haven't seen them in a very long time.
So we go to the other side of the mirror, my favorite place, once more, and I get to take my time, for the first time. A high price....for your luxury. And the woman may be awestruck, and the woman may truly care but the.....woman is so tired that the...woman disappears....but not really, just short walks in the mists, every once in a while.......
It is hard picking songs off albums; it is like picking your favorite children.....but I did my best. My choices seemed to have a flow so I hope I am right and that these are the songs that make you feel good.
There are some songs that went to movies, and were never heard from again....atleast if you blinked, so here is your chance to hear them all the way through, and again, make up your own little movie. Maybe one of these songs may have an answer~in~waiting for you. I hope so-----you know I love that.
And then there are the songs that went on "b" sides in America, and the much more difficult to get...."b" sides that were NOT released in the United States, but went to Europe.
Sequencing all these songs was an interesting experience. I tried to create some kind of a "There is no time" vibe by going to the begining and to the end and back~~~~like on intense recording session. You were there, you know how I feel. This is my heart. This is my work; it has been enchanting. I wouldn't change a thing.
And The Days Go
Like A Strand In The Wind
In The Web That Is My Own
I Begin Again..............
I Love You,
Stevie....................."
