The next solo album we have from Ms. Nicks is that of "Street Angel". A commercial flop and one that Stevie Nicks even regrets recording. Aimelessly walking in a Klonopin haze from song to song on this album, it is clear that Stevie Nicks was in trouble. "Street Angel" was pushed back from its origional release date, due to the record company rejecting it. Sent back to Stevie to be re-worked, where she dropped two songs, "Inspiration" and "God's Garden" and added "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind" and "Listen To The Rain."
Yes, the majority of fans rank this as the all time worst of Stevie Nicks album, as does Stevie herself, but I truly feel that there are some very good tracks here on this release.
With a different producer, and different arrangments for some of the songs...this album could have been great. Modern/Atlantic Dropped Stevie Nicks from their record label after this album release.
It was also on this tour that Stevie Nicks swore she would never again appear on stage at the weight she was then. The Klonopin had caused Stevie Nicks to reach nearly Two Hundred Pounds and she states it was during this time that she "felt like a person without a soul. Her creativity and love for song writing and performing was lost."

Tracks Released As Singles & Their Chart Position

1: Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind.....# 57
2: Blue Denim....Released But Failed To Enter The Charts

The album starts with a great song I really enjoy...."I thought I would never see him again...he reminds me of blue denim..."Blue Denim"- this is a different sound for this album it goes more with some of her earlier work

"Greta"- this song sounds like the bside to "Stand Back", "Garbo" which was unreleased. Whenever I hear this song...."She's got her bags packed..and she's off to the valley where the sun meets the sea...you understand that...she wants to live by the ocean....I wonder what STEVIE would say......Great tune

"Street Angel"- this starts off sounding like a Phil Collins song but I'm glad it isn't. The synthesizer gives this song a certain warmth this version is different than that appearing on 1998's Enchanted. Background vocals by David Crosby, from the band of Crosby Stills and Nash are featured on this track. He is also the father to Melissa Ethridges two children with her ex lover whats her face.....best line in song...."I've been walking under raibows...to long to tell...Been walking down mean streets...my street angel.

"Docklands"- this song is very laid back and mellow. Don't care for it personally. I can always tell when Stevie Nicks has written a song or not....and this one....she didnt.

"Listen to the Rain"- very upbeat song good to listen to while it's storming for obvious reasons, the song even portrays a storm by getting quiet like it's just raining and loud like thunder and lightening. Finally , a track where Stevie belts out the tune, instead of playing it safe. Best song on the album in my opinion....best line in song..."You've been everywhere..and you live in Dark Shadows....who's the beauty and the beast here....."

"Destiny"- this is also a different version that the one that appears on Enchanted. This has a nice sax solo in the background and shares the same first verse as "Enchanted" off of the Wild Heart album.

"Unconditional Love"- slow tempo and her voice is very shaky. Years of cigarrette abuse is very clear here....BUT the rasp in her voice is awesome...so if that is because of all the KOOL cigs she smoked...light up another one....love that rasp.

"Love is Like a River"- this is the breakup song off of the album the first verse lets us know that...dont care for this tune

"Rose Garden"- one of the oldest written songs on this album (1965) has a country feel to it. I LOVE this song. Can play it over and over.

"Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind"- the first song that was released as a single and didn't end up doing too well but it is a nice song. This is another track that Stevie Nicks had no hand in writing. It seems that with every solo album released begining with this album and then onto TISL, the first tracks released as singles are/were those not written by her....which is to bad because Stevie's whole reasoning for solo work was so that she had an outlet for HER own material. But, as are many of Rick Nowles penned tunes...its predictable pop. The bridge is the best part in the song and Stevie says it best...."You want me to be there....you take me some where....you showed me your lifeline...Revealed your brighter side....I would say but the words won't come...I just come undone...All I want to do...is to be closer to you."

"Just Like a Woman"- Stevie remade this origional Bob Dylan tune as does so very well. Finally, she was able to pay tribute to one of her personal favorite artists. Stevie sites Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell as the two artists who inspired her to become a songwriter. I would love to hear Stevie record Joni Mitchells "Big Yellow Taxi", I'm sure it would work more so than the Counting Crows/Vanessa Carlton remake.

"Kick It"- my seond favorite song off of this album. About drug addiction and finally being able to "Kick The Habit"...which was untrue as the stint in rehab after this tour to detox from Klonopin proved. But, hey....it was physician prescribed and not abused. She took as directed.

"Jane"- wrote for Jane Goodall and her job with the monkeys, very beautiful and well written....." So her nights became nightmares..as she fought for their souls...and the days became worse for the one's she lost."
