Samantha Fox and her "Love House" show
Samantha Fox in concert was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!! One thing that I never realized was how short she is. She was no taller than 5ft 3in. Very tiny. Very cute. She has lost some of her famous "Cleavage" due to becoming so fit. But that's ok.
The show started at 11:00pm which surprised me. I thought it was late for a show to start, but who am I. So, as we sat in our hotel room, i surfed the net a bit with our lap top and attempted to see if I could find how many tickets the show had sold. No luck though. But when we arrived I was shocked at how many people were actually there. Im not saying this because Samantha Fox isnt worth seeing, it's just that she is unfortunately thought of as an 80's cheese cake pin up girl. There was atleast 2,000 people there ( I'm guessing here)
Samantha hit the stage singing "Hello....It's Me Again...Don't You Know It's Hard To Keep A Good Woman Down...But Then Again...Maybe That Could Be Fun." Better known as her hit "I Wanna Have Some Fun" in a gorgeous white buttoned mid-drift that had long sleeves and black leather pants. Her pants were as "tight as a skin on an onion" as my grandmother would have said.
Her voice was strong. Her range surprising. It was really great when she sat down on the side of the stage infront of us and sang "True Devotion". Not a well known hit here in the U.S. but a beautiful ballad off of her sophmore album aptly titled "Samantha Fox". Begining the show with her better known/popular material and slowly incorporating her newer releases. Her band did extremely well trying to duplicate the dance music without the help of dance music machines. She sang her club hits "Santa Maria", "Let me Be Free", "Deeper" and "Watching You, Watching Me." She previewed 3 new songs that she is currently recording for a new album due out next summer and they were cool.
One of the coolest things about her show was that inbetween songs and such, she actually talked (love a british accent) and you could tell that she was very excited to be there. Sam stated that she actually almost had to cancel last week due to her "Nan" falling ill with what everyone thought to be at the time a heart attack, but that she is well now and insisted that Sam come and perform and that she was glad she was able to attend after all. There was a little girl there with her father ( I am assuming) and she went to the front of the stage and gave Samantha a beautiful arrangement of white roses. Motioning for a security guard to lift the girl up to her, Samantha accepted the flowers and kissed the little girl (lucky bitch)...LOL....(Joke). Samantha ended the show with a song called "The Best Is Yet To Come."
All the way home, I made Mark listen to all of my Samantha Fox cd's. In which he described as "Four hours of chic music". He would have enjoyed it more I am sure had there been a steel guitar or a "picker" in the arrangement......Ole Hick.
