That's Not What My Unc Said????
OK. We all know that children have the innate ability of repeating things they have overhead an adult saying at the most inappropriate of times.
My mother and my sister have been forcing both my soon to be seven y.o. nephew and my four y.o. neice to attend Vacation Bible School in the evenings. His sister loves it....A.J. hates it. He complans that it is "Boring" and it isn't as much "fun" as say playing PS2, riding his dirt bike, or watching The Disney Channel. But none the less, they made him go. Now, after last night they may have changed their minds about this.
My sister told me of the incident this morning when she dropped him off here. Evidently, last nights bible school lesson was the love of Jesus and making that love THE most important thing in your life. She said the teacher told her that A.J. sat quietly why she taught this "lesson", it was his ending remarks that had her puzzled and concerned. The teacher had decided at the end of her lesson to close with every child stating Atleast three important things in their life. She was secretly hoping that her lesson had sunken into the minds of these children and they would instantly place "Jesus's Love" at the very top.
She said that most every child incorporated this into their "Three Most Important Things." All except my nephew. As she came to A.J. she asked him "Now, Anthony, tell Miss Charlotte The Three Most important things in your life." A.J. looked at her instantly and replied. "Number one is my dirt bike.......and i guess my other two important things are the things that my UNC tells his boyfriend, my Uncle Mark. are very important and they are...........Pride and Personal Appearance."
Pride????? Personal Appearance???, of course the teacher was horrified. UNC has a BOY friend??????.....No Jesus in the top three?????
My sister asked if A.J. could stay with us tonight while they all go to Bible School. It seems A.J. got his wish of not having to attend after all. That's My Boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
