Anyone who has visited my blog knows that I am a huge Geri Halliwell fan. I have read both autobiographys, I love what she stands for and I love her music. Geri recently underwent vocal chord surgery removing non-cancerous nodules. She is set to emerge from her three year hiatus on July 11th when she co hosts the Capitol FM's Party In The Park For The Princes Trust, with Duncan James from the UK group BLUE. Geri's singing lessons

Geri Halliwell is taking professional singing lessons.

The former Spice Girl is visiting National Theatre voice coach Penny Davis to help regain her singing voice after a recent operation to remove non-cancerous nodules from her throat.

Dame Julie Andrews had a similar operation in 1997 and lost the use of her four-octave singing voice. She has only recently begun to sing again.

Halliwell, currently at work on her third solo album, is reported to be visiting Davis once a week to help repair and improve her voice and range.

An insider revealed: "Since starting the lessons, she thinks she's found new tones to her voice. She's really excited about her new album and is proud of the new songs."

On Halliwell's new material, her first recordings since 2001's "Scream If You Wanna Go Faster", her voice is said to resemble Bette Midler's.

Halliwell is expected to reveal her new voice on July 11 when she co-hosts Capital FM's Party In The Park for the Prince's Trust with Duncan James from Blue.
