Everyone, everywhere is talkng about Madonna & Britney Spears' Deep Tongue Kiss on The MTV Video Music Awards. Even without the shock effect of this kiss, the mighty team of Madonna, Christina, Britney and Missy E WAS this years best VMA performance. The number opened with Britney singing "Like A Virgin", I am not a fan by any means, but in all fairness she did not sound all THAT bad. Her voice still has that quivering, unstrong, Minnie Mouse quailty. Secondly.... Christina entered with her delicious, power house of a voice goth self. Then Madonna. The Icon. Ending with Missy E. One thing abundantly clear in this performance is these women do know how to entertain. I was a bit worried before the performance, because the rumour mill suggested the performance was to also contain J.Lo. I wasnt sure how that would have come off. Thank God, it was Christina.

Was the kiss shocking???? No. Not really. Tatu has taken female lip locking to the stratosphere. Pink, has done it. But Britney and Madonna NEED the controversy. Ironically, Madonna also kissed Christina during this number. But, you hardly hear ANYTHING about it. Why???? Simply put, of the four women, Britney and Madonna NEED the publicity. Madonnas last music effort "American Life" disappeared from the charts a mere 14 weeks after initial release. Since the release of Britney Spears first album, each of her album releases have consistently sold far less than the previous. Christina and Missy E on the other hand, are at the top of their game at the moment. Teamed with Justin Timberlake, Christina is one part of this summers hottest tour. Her album "STRIPPED" is still nestled on the charts respectively and with the release of the track "Beautiful", powered by the video images of minorities and etc, X-Tina garnered even more of a fan base than she had initially. And Missy E?? Well, she is the hip hop queen and fellow Virginian, so enough said.
