My friend Lanie and I went to the beach today. The weather here has been extremely humid, but going to the beach has been one of our favorite past times. Lanie and I met in the 8th grade. She was adopted and moved into my neighborhood. We instantly became friends. Went to our proms together. Graduated together. Was in her wedding. There when she had the kids. Everything. Anyway, while at the beach today, We remembered when we were in High school and how every summer we would spend it at her moms beach cottage. Every morning when we awoke we would grab our beach towels,sun screen, and walk down to the beach. Our friend Ann would meet us there as well.

We would play volleyball, swim, get burnt and all that funs stuff. lol. The memory we relived today while there was that we used to have our "Boom Box" with us and would sing every song that came on. Hell, sometimes we didnt even use the radio. Lanie, Ann and I would be Wilson Phillips. This was the summer that their song HOLD ON was HUGE. Lanie demanded to Be Chynna, Ann was Wendy and I was Carnie. Lanie always had a way with making you think you HAD to be who she chose. LOL. She would say "Ronnie....You HAVE To Be Carnie because you have that GREAT Harmony voice and can sing just like her and Ann You Look Just Like Wendy and when we do the harmonys your voice is so much better at blending with Ronnie's. Your voices together makes this sound so good." LOL. Those were the days. I always wanted to say to Lanie."No...that's not the reason you want me to be Carnie, the real reason is because i am the "Heavy Duty" one out of you, me and Ann." But we never once complained out loud because truly it was all done to have fun. But, there something very special and unique about our three part harmonies and the way our voices blended. Like it was meant to be.

But today, while on the beach, out of the blue, Lanie looked at me and slowly began......"I Know There's Pain" and that's all she had to say because automatically i harmonized "Why Do You Lock Yourself Up In These Chains" Together Now people.. "No One Can Change Your Life Except For You....Don't Never Let Anyone Step All Over You.........Open Your Heart And Your Mind......Is It Really Fair To Feel This Way Inside..oh-oh
