The one action hero I always wanted to be as a kid was Wonder Woman. She totally kicked ass.

When I was seven years old, I wanted to BE Wonder Woman for Halloween. My grandmother called my parents to tell them what halloween costume i desired and of course they were shocked. Especially my father. LOL. All he could think about was how the other kids at school would react when i dressed up in my costume and paraded around the class room and how HE may be viewed. My grandmother and my mother brought me that costume. They did sit me down and tell me that the other kids may laugh at me because it wasn't a "Boy" costume. My mother reminds me today what i told her then. I said "Mommy, Halloween is dressing up and PRETENDING to be someone else. Thats why it's fun." She says that when i told her that, she went back in her mind to the first time that she ever held me in her arms after she gave me life. As she looked down at me in her arms, she said she knew then, I was bound to be someone special. Now, at seven years old, she could add brave to that. She has never stood in my way when i have chosen to defy rules that others have placed on me. She stood by me,watching, still smiling. Mom...we BOTH are survivors. This post is dedicated to you. You gave up all your dreams for your children. You sacrificied, You've laughed and many times have cried. But have never once complained..... You are my real true life WONDER WOMAN.
Here is the first photo ever taken of my mother and I. She Was 17 years old and i was like 6 months or so.
